Isabel Hanson

Isabel Hanson, coordinator of LARC, is responsible for assisting the director of International Programs, in consultation with the director of Penn State Cooperative Extension, in leading and coordinating the college's initiatives in developing Spanish-language curriculum and programming and linkages with institutions in Latin America ad the Caribbean for students, faculty, extension, and staff. She has a master's degree in business administration and marketing and experience in financial issues from the Bank of Costa Rica as the manager for credit recovery and as the liaison to the government for policies affecting agricultural credit.  Isabel also assists the Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology and other departments in developing and promoting a Spanish-language training center concept and providing support for key programs (Spanish FINPACK, CEDEV) and courses (Farm Finance CFAT, Calf Management). Additionally, she assists in the marketing of Penn State Spanish-language products with countries and institutions, such as USAID, Peace Corps, OAS/IICA, and opens new opportunities for the Penn State undergraduate and graduate students in Latin countries.
